I want to thank Mr Marc Evans for inviting me to his open mic yesterday at Peace & A Cup of Joe in Baltimore City. I had a great time. I got to meet some of the coolest, and talented performers, it was amazing.
This was the first time that Marc has actually seen me perform my original matte rial, I'm glad to see that he enjoyed it, and wants to collaborate at some point. Awesome.
I got to meet Jene'ba Suma, who has an amazing voice, she got up there and sang her soul out, she was backed by the amazing house band MushMouth, it was amazing. She got to see me performing, and she now would like to feature me in her upcoming album, this is so exciting =)
Another awesome performer I met was Ad-Lib, he is spoken word natural, he did a couple of his original pieces, then had a member of the audience feed him random words as he would craft poems on the spot. Phenomenal. He is also a photographer, so there is talk that we would pay each other in skills, he takes photos of me, and I would back him up on stage, pretty sweet I think =)
There were many other local artist there, poets, female hip-hop artist, and guitar extortioners. I think next time I visit I will bring my Djembe, to sit in with my new musical friends.
What a great way end a Thursday night, beats the hell out of watching TV =)
And tonight, I get to rock out with sahffi at Teavovle, because that's the right way to start a musicians weekend, an awesome gig.
