Hats
Its WinterMuse:
To some, it is a decorative piece of cloth, a fashion statement of some kind, it was to me for quite some time as well. But I have one particular hat that I hold very near and dear to my heart. A beige hat, that fit my head no matter how long or short my hair became. I never left without it, Where ever I wore it I would always get talked to, either “nice hat”, or “cool hat”. It was always a conversation starter, I didn’t know why. It had no symbols, no images, no decorative marks. It was a plain beige hat, but to me it was confidence. I wore it like it was my own skin, to school, to work, to outings with my friends, it became a symbol for me, as I of it. People could see me from down the road, see my hat of confidence, and point and say with a big simple” Thee he is”. The years have taken their toll on my beloved beige hat, but only after I’ve outgrown needing it. I still own it, still love it, still wear it from time to time. It has become a symbol of what I was, and reminds me of how much I’ve grown. I went many places with that hat, still has the marks from our many adventures, and serves me as a beloved companion, to keep my head from getting too big.
