In this update I have information about 2 album projects.
The Un-Genre:[current project]
Things are coming along so far, I need to go back into the studio to lay down my vocals, I had to cancel my last session because I wasn't feeling well. Hopefully I'll be able to get some recording done before the winter holiday.
I have been getting many complements on my previous "low-tech [ep]", people seem to really like the electronic side of my songs, some have even said they would be happy to pay money to get their hands on it. Since I don't have any more physical copies of it, I'm thinking of taking a few of the tracks and add them to The Un-Genre. I would of course make sure that they got mastered with the rest of the album, so that everything would sound right, the cool thing is they are different songs, so it'll be like getting an album and a half. Its just an idea so far, but I think I might go for it.
The Concept Album:[future project]
shaffi & I have been talking a lot lately about working together more, one idea we had was to create a sahffi/mOsno album. We decided that we want to work on a concept album, so far the dominant theme is "Dreams". Yesterday I bought a little journal so that I could document and keep track of what I'm doing for this album, then sahffi & I met up, and to no surprise a seed of a song was planted. I came up with a very haunting yet sensual musical pattern, and this morning sahffi emails me a rough idea for lyrics and melodies for it. Awesome.
I think I will benefit a lot from this album, it'll be the first for me on many levels, I never co-wrote an album before, and I had decided that I want to start breaking out of my comfort zone, as far as playing, singing, or writing. If this comes out right (which I'm really hoping it will) I think I will be a much better performer, writer, & musician.
As you can tell I've been a busy bee, multiple music projects, working of raising my muse bar & what not. Some time soon the December newsletter will be going out, so make sure to sign up on the mailing list, there is going to be a lot of interesting performances coming up. Including this Saturday in West Virginia with Teporah.
Have a great week everyone.
mOsno
As long as the songs from the low tech ep do not replace other songs already going on the album, it's a great idea. If you ever want to collaborate with me, I'm all for it by the way. :)
