Starting Thursday the countdown to the new year begins, with it comes our preparation for the New Year's gig with Carbon Leaf. I'm SUPER excited about that.
We have our official NYE rehearsal this week, & get ready to ROCK out on Dec/31st :)
This past weekend I had a blast, got to meet several new local musicians,visited the family for the holiday. But what stands out in my mind is my debut performance for a Sudanese audience, I was scared out of my mind to be honest :D, but it turned out really well. The response was very overwhelming, I was treated like a rockstar, it really meant a lot to me to know that the Sudanese Youth here enjoy what I'm doing.
Big shout out to the Sudanese Unity Project (Sup!) for putting together that awesome event, I really appreciate all the love & support you have provided, you gals & guys are the best :)
This week Sahffi & I are going to be quit busy, we have some back to back shows liked up including DC / Chestertown / & Philly.
The "Faisal Goes West" movie will start production in January 2012, & I actually started writing a song specifically for this film. Writer/Director Bentley Brown likes what I've written so far, I have some cool ideas for its arrangement, so I can't wait to finish writing it so I can get it done in time.
